Steps to stop solicitors
Contributed by: Dave & Ryan Beaumont on 5/9/2006

The door-to-door solicitor season is upon us! You know these people... The magazine subscription girl who wants to go to Spain. The lady who just wants you to read her religious pamphlet. The "all windows washed for $25" guy. It goes on.

Homeowners often feel that they have little control regarding door-to-door solicitation. However, the solution to this perpetual problem is remarkably simple. By clearly marking a home with a "No Soliciting" sign, solicitors are denied access to that property.

In the spirit of the the National Do Not Call Registry, a National No Knock List has been developed to inform homeowners of their rights regarding unwelcome home solicitation.

Along with a free door decal, you will be sent information about registering your home and cell phone numbers with the National Do Not Call Registry and a simple form to complete and send to The Direct Marketing Association that can dramatically decrease the influx of junk mail received at home.

The best thing is that it's all free and it's all your choice. It is my hope to give all homeowners a voice and a choice regarding home solicitation.

All Your Hub readers can request a free 3x4" gold foil, weatherproof decal by visiting www.solicitorfree.com or by sending two .39 postage stamps to: Created for You Productions, 3400 S. Eudora St., Denver, CO, 80222.
