Contributed by: Jennifer Hancock on 1/15/2008

OAK RIDGE, TN (January 15, 2008) - This month, students on winter break have chosen to visit Oak Ridge to help Habitat for Humanity of Anderson County build simple, decent houses. Altogether, more than thirty students from New York University, Althoff Catholic High School, and Western Kentucky University have traveled to work at Habitat's Hickory Ridge subdivision in Clinton.

Special thanks to the following groups and individuals for helping to provide hospitality for the students during their stay: Apple Blossom Cafe, Central Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge, Grace Covenant Church, Grace Lutheran Church, High Places Community Church, Highland View Church of Christ, John Jones, Kern Memorial United Methodist, Kern Memorial United Methodist Men, Stacie McCallum, Sherry Paris, Cathy Slater, and Amanda Walters.

Habitat for Humanity of Anderson County, an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, is an ecumenical Christian ministry that welcomes to its work all people dedicated to the cause of eliminating poverty housing. Habitat for Humanity brings together people with resources and people in need to build simple, decent houses. The houses are sold to those in need at no profit, through zero interest loans.
